Scavenging uTOpia
By Matthew Blackett // No Comments
When: Sunday February 26, 2-5pm
Where: Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West, free
Do you have city savvy? Detective-like determination? Intimate knowledge of the west side of town? Explore the crevices of Parkdale and the Gladstone Hotel as you join the folks who brought you the book uTOpia: Towards a New Toronto on a scavenger hunt! This event is part of the Gladstone's Come Up To My Room alt design festival.
Collect yourself a team of two to four people of any age (or arrive solo and join up with other solos), then meet up in the ballroom of the Gladstone between 2 and 2:30pm to pick up a list of fifty or so facts or things you might, if you're lucky, be able find around the neighbourhood. Each item has a different point value, so you can do a little strategizing. You can head out as soon as you get your list, so arrive early and dress appropriately. The winning team scores gloating rights, a stack of Coach House books and a night's stay at the glamorous Gladstone! Second- and third-place winners get a Coach House prize pack (which includes copies of Spacing magazine).
