A “thriller” of a ride on London’s Tube

Its close to midnight and something evils lurking in the dark,
Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart,
You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it,
You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes,
You're paralyzed...

-- Michael Jackson, lyrics to "Thriller"

Back in December we posted a video from New York City of a performance group called Pole-ite who demonstrated a little pole dancing on the subway. This week, we present a much more ambitious form of dance -- a recreation of Michael Jackson's video "Thriller" performed on a subway train of the London Underground.

Awesome. This reminds me of the stage that is the London Tube. In 1996 I was riding the tube in London, and on one particularly long stretch between stops, a bloke pulled out his guitar and performed a fantastic accoustic rendition of Radiohead's High and Dry. He wasn't looking for money either, not busking for spare change. Rather he was performing for the art of it.

That was wicked.

I've seen something very similar on a train in Sydney in November.

There were a bunch of guys dressed as the village people on the train in the city centre performing "Macho Man". photos here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ptrubs/sets/72157603850327365/)

I wasn't able to get a video of them on the train, but a friend eventually found a video of them performing later that night...
