P Diddy weighs in on transportation issues

It's unclear if this video is a joke or not, but the AP and CNN seem to be taking it at face value:
Sean "Diddy" Combs complained about the "... too high" price of gas and pleaded for free oil from his "Saudi Arabia brothers and sisters" in a YouTube video posted Wednesday.
The hip-hop mogul said he is now flying on commercial airlines instead of in private jets, which Combs said had previously cost him $200,000 and up for a roundtrip between New York and Los Angeles.
"I'm actually flying commercial," Diddy said before walking onto an airplane, sitting in a first-class seat and flashing his boarding pass to the camera. "That's how high gas prices are. I'm at the gate right now. This is really happening, proof gas prices are too high. Tell whoever the next president is we need to bring gas prices down."
The note on YouTube suggests it's a joke, but whatever the intention, it's a ridiculously comical and swear-ridden reminder of where some mainstream thought is on gas prices. Living in Toronto (and perhaps watching the speeches from the Democratic National Convention) it's easy to be under the impression that high gas prices always lead naturally into a discussion of sustainable modes of transportation.

Oh, no! He's now flying commercial! What is the world coming to? I bet he'll be more upset he can't get a first class seat. Or if he has to sit beside a crying baby.

My god!! The humanity!! I suggest - nay, demand - that Canada donate its surplus gas reserves to remedy this situation at once!!
It's weird to see a flight parallel of the putative humility (or shame, in this case) of public transportation versus personal.
