NDP elect new provincial leader

The Ontario NDP elected Andrea Horwath leader of the provincial party. You can learn more about Spacing's perspective on the convention by reviewing our Twitter account that Dylan Reid has been diligently maintaining, or wait for our on-the-floor interviews in our next Spacing Radio podcast in 9 days.

Her surname is a little tragic

It's a shame the NDP still don't get how to make a good website. Though they do deserve credit for being the better out of the three.

Good for the NDP! I am a one issue voter right now, and that issue is transit. The NDP were the most transit friendly party out of all the major parties in Ontario and I hope their mandate doesn't change under Andrea Horwath. If they stay that course I will continue supporting them.

"It’s a shame the NDP still don’t get how to make a good website."

It looks like this IS the NDP website at the moment.

I, for one, would enjoy a little balance. How about a story on John Tory having his ___ handed to him on a platter? :)

She seems intelligent, but I'm not sure she represents anything new for this party. In fact, I'm pretty sure she doesn't.

I'm not all together clear on Andrea's policy positions.

I think to the extend she is a young(er) woman, that could be good for the dipper's though neither her issue stances nor her charisma have wow factor.

I wish Avi Lewis had run!

She may be transit friendly, but she drives a car everywhere.

I'll go with the Green candidate if unions are running the NDP.
